Photo Novels (foto novelas)

Development of culturally and linguistically appropriate materials called Photo Novels. The Photo Novel is designed for low literacy audiences. They are an effective and fun way to educate when the audience can personally identify with the individuals pictured. Because this method consists of a story board format with photos and dialogue, they appeal to low verbal learners who may have difficulty with meaning from words alone. Photo Novels motivate the reader and are relatively inexpensive to produce. Photo Novels have been proven to get repeated usage because they are shared and not thrown away.

Parent Support Classes 

Develops strong parents. The objective is to teach parents skills needed to support their children as they grow and thrive. Families will enhance their capacity and confidence in their ability to support their child’s safety, health and well-being. Class topics include child development, discipline, safety, nutrition and much more.

Receive the benefits through our Employment program which includes one-on-one meetings with our employment specialists for candidates seeking employment and the opportunity to enhance diversity recruiting for employers

Housing

The Home buyers Education program provides information on the steps necessary to obtain home ownership, with workshops that teach participants how to clear up/dispute credit issues and develop a successful financial plan to begin the process of saving for a down payment and closing costs.
